Hotels can either elevate or hinder a quality travel experience. When traveling and sight-seeing it is certainly a drag to come home to a drab hotel when you’re worn out from your busy itinerary. Just like a restaurant should be more than just a place to eat, a hotel should be more than just a place to sleep. A hotel should offer an all around beautiful and pleasant experience for its customers. Thus, we compiled a list of a few hotels that go above and beyond.
The Beverly Hills Hotel
The Beverly Hills Hotel incorporates a perfect combination of old-world California and bold, modern styles. It showcases a whimsical combination of colors such as pale pinks and deep greens scattered throughout the hotel’s interior. Banana leaves are a strong theme as well from the banana leaf printed carpeting to the wallpaper. This iconic hotel is full of history and style has something to offer for everyone.
Hotel Cala di Volpe
Hotel Cala di Volpe in Sardinia, Italy when first opened, was far ahead of its time. Inarguably iconic, this hotel was constructed in the 1960’s and designed by architect and artistic genius Jacques Coüelle, a friend of renowned artists Picasso and Salvador Dalí. It was designed to stay true to the natural beauty of the Sardinian Coast while also pulling in minimal yet refined elements. As a result of these design choices the hotel exudes an effortlessly luxurious feel. Raw plaster walls paired with colorful asymmetric stained glass windows and minimalist seating stays true to the Sardinian coast with a modern and uniquely gorgeous twist.
The Royal Copenhagen
The Royal Copenhagen is another hotel with interior design ahead of its time. Built in 1960, the entirety of the interior is crafted in Danish modernism style. The artist, Arne Jacobsen was one of the first to implement this style that is ever so popular to this day. Danish modernism is especially popular in interior design today with the resurgence of minimalist furniture, whimsical colors and funky shapes. Everything in The Royal Copenhagen Hotel was designed by Jacobsen down to dishes, glasses and silver used by the attached restaurant. Many of the furniture pieces were designed specifically and only for the hotel’s use and are positively one-of-a-kind.
Cashel Palace
Cashel Palace is the place for those who adore all things regal and charming. With walls covered in traditional style art, ornate chandeliers and classical upholstery, this hotel is nothing short of extraordinary. Updated with modern luxury amenities, Cashel Palace still stays true to its original historical feel (It is 150 years old!). Complete with a perfectly kept garden of hydrangeas and a view of the historic St. Patrick’s Rock, this hotel is fit for a Queen!
