Melissa Hoover: 3 Lessons in 3 Years

Melissa Hoover, one of our prized Procurement Specialists, celebrates her third work anniversary with Crimson on November 9th, 2023. We prompted her with answering the question, what are three lessons that you have learned in your three years with Crimson? Read below for her reply!

1. Discover your voice and find confidence in it
My journey over the past three years with Crimson has taken me from a place of uncertainty about my own voice to a point where I feel confident, not only at work but also in my personal life. At Crimson, my voice is heard and valued, which has empowered me to become the most authentic version of myself.

This transformation is not confined to my professional life; it extends into my personal interactions as well, enabling me to gain a deeper understanding of myself and how I can best interact with others. I’ve learned that this self-discovery process is always changing and evolving, but that is the beauty of it! Embracing this fluidity, I’ve harnessed the power of my voice and recognized its significance in shaping my experiences and influencing those around me.

2. Whatever makes you “weird” is probably your greatest asset
Your individuality is your greatest asset, and what makes you “weird” can often be your most unique and valuable quality. It’s a reminder that you don’t have to alter your true self to gain the approval of others. Staying authentic to who you are is the key to forming genuine connections and attracting others who appreciate your genuine self.

Crimson has taught me that in a world filled with diverse perspectives and personalities, your uniqueness is what sets you apart and makes you truly valuable. So embrace all that you are and let your true self shine!

3. Meaningful connections & relationships are the key to a happy and fulfilling life
Feeling valued by my coworkers and peers has significantly boosted my confidence in everyday life. Even during challenging times, we maintain constructive and respectful dialogue, fostering a supportive atmosphere. Each employee at Crimson works day in and day out to maintain a positive work environment; the mutual respect within our team is something special.

At Crimson, genuine care for one another permeates the work environment, making each day enjoyable and something to look forward to. The work at Crimson not only provides fulfillment but also serves as a platform for self-discovery and a better understanding of others.
Among my coworkers, our shared values create a strong sense of unity. We can share laughs and jokes, all while ensuring that the work gets done. Getting to know each other on a personal level is a priority, as we understand the significance of relationships and how they play a critical role in our successes. Each and every employee at Crimson works each day to maintain a positive work environment
