Meet Melanie: Crimson Design Group’s newest Design Director
We are delighted to welcome Melanie Kettring as the newest addition to the Crimson team in her role as Design Director! Join us in getting to know Melanie and discovering the expertise and creativity she brings to our firm.
What does a typical day in your life at Crimson look like?
“As a new member of the team, I attend numerous meetings to immerse myself in Crimson’s culture and software. I dedicate time to understanding the ‘how’ and ‘why’ behind current processes, while also strategizing ways to enhance team performance. I also help the team with design work when needed.”
What past experiences are you bringing into your role here at Crimson?
“I have extensive experience in the Interior Design industry, ranging from designer to management and director roles. While I’ve worked on Commercial Educational Facilities, Senior Living, and some Residential projects, the majority of my experience has been in Hotel Hospitality. I have my NCIDQ and LEED AP ID+C Accreditation and for the past 13 years, I worked for one of the largest hotel brands. I was heavily involved in the growth, design and development of many of the brand prototypes and design packages, while also leading a large team of designers and project managers. I am detail-oriented and have great strength in the technical side of design.”
What are you most excited to do with the Crimson team?
“I enjoy finding ways to make processes run more smoothly and efficiently. I am passionate about helping others achieve their goals by streamlining tasks and supporting the team in any way I can.”
Where do you love to travel, and how do those places inspire your design style?
“I love to experience new places and cultures. I am generally inspired by the architecture as well as the flora and fauna of places I visit.”
What has been your favorite thing about Columbus or Ohio so far?
“Since I currently live 11 min. away from the office I love that my commute time is significantly shorter to what I have had in the past.”
