Taylor House

Multifamily Housing Project

How do you seamlessly introduce a new multifamily build to an established community? That was the question we had to answer when we began designing Taylor House. We wanted to create a space that felt of the community rather than outside of it.

Located between the historic Clintonville neighborhood and the much newer Northwest Columbus area, Taylor House would have to embody what was best of both the new and the old. In designing the space, we used reclaimed lumber flooring, repurposed corbels, antique rugs, and natural stone to honor the historic heritage of the area. We used more touches of traditional design by selecting damask patterned fabrics, rich velvets, and tufted upholstery for the space. We injected this traditionally inspired space with metallic finishes, snake skin leather, and a one of a kind contemporary mural. We brought the clubhouse further into the future by designing a rock climbing gym with a 22’ wall, a theater, business center, and a coffee bar that features a NYSE ticker. This clubhouse is truly the best of both old world design and contemporary aesthetics.
