The quality of our designs rely heavily on the quality of the vendors we work with on a daily basis. There are always new product lines coming out so we end up spending a lot of time with our vendor reps to stay up to date and current. We end up forming strong relationships with our vendors, sometimes even forming friendships with them! Really, it’s like a perk of our job to work with so many talented people, both in and outside the office. So, when Nicole Pallante with Maharam contacted our vendor relations coordinator and designer, Emmy, with the idea to throw a “vendor blender” at our office, how could we resist?
Nicole brought Tamra Fuscaldo with Mohawk Group, Diane Igel with Ohio Valley Supply, Shannon Fry with Lighting Systems Columbus, and Lesley Collett with Herman Miller. It’s sometimes hard to find time to meet with one vendor, let alone five! This was an amazing opportunity to spend time with some of our reps, take a look at their new lines, and have a great time after hours!
So what are our designers most excited to use from the vendor blender?Emmy: Shannon Fry’s Terzani line! The lighting was so incredible and almost everything was customizable. It gives designers a unique opportunity to value engineer our new ideas and make one of a kind pieces.
Stephanie: I loved Maharam’s new fabric lines! They have some silica fabrics that are just amazing.
Heather: I agree with Steph! The fabrics were gorgeous. But of course, I loved the lighting too!
Esra: I’m so inspired by nature and love incorporating natural textures and patterns in my design. So the Mohawk Lichen collection was so cool!
Jessica: I loved Corian countertops! Gorgeous colors, tons of variety, and very reasonably priced. I can’t wait to use them!
