Tips for a coffee table makeover as seen today on Good Day Columbus

This morning on the Good Day Columbus show, I did a quick make over of the existing coffee table that they use on the set. In continuing the makeover, here are 5 tipson how to give your own coffee table a fresh new look.

1. Flowers
Whether they are picked fresh from your gardenor bought, flowers always add color and texture. My first choice is alwaysfresh hand cut out ofmy garden but here a few other options.

Orchids are always a great pick regardless of your style. They are timeless and last year around.

Use succelents in a single container or group different pieces in a larger container. Best part about these natural beauties is that they take little care.

2. Trays

3. Candles
One can never have enough candles. They are great for creating ambiance and fresh home scents.

4. Object d’art
Everything from architectural elements, vases, sculptures the list can go on and on. Look around and see what pieces you collect. Group them together in 3’s to get more impact.

Boxes can be great to store playing cards, matches, cocktail napkins, or photos. All are great for entertaining.

5. Cocktail Books
From travel, art, design, food, wine, hobbies the list goes on and on. They don’t have to be kept on a bookcase in your office – display them out on your accent tables. The type of books you collect tell a lot about you and can be great conversation starters. Here are a few to get you started.

Or, design your own personalized photo book. Apple, Snapfish, and many other sites work well. As a bonus, send the second copy to a family member or friend as a gift.
Most of all have fun and try different things out. And remember, odd numbers look best when doing a grouping!
