In 2003, I founded Crimson Design Group with one, key idea in mind: that creating beautiful spaces must go hand in hand with creating equally beautiful life experiences. I began my business in my home, taking on small client projects and hired my first employee (who is now Crimson’s Design Director).
Over the next several years, business grew organically and our small team moved into our first real office in German Village. Crimson began growing by leaps and bounds, thanks largely due to the fact that we contracted Crimson’s first commercial client, a local developer with whom we worked on a series of multifamily projects, and with whom we still have a strong working relationship! By 2012 we had to hire more designers and move into our first downtown office, off of Gay Street.
Now, we’re located off of North High Street in the Short North and have a staff of six designers, a procurement manager, a bookkeeper, a project manager, a business development coordinator, and we’re still growing!
I’m endlessly thankful to all of our clients, vendors, talented staff, and family who have believed in us and have helped us reach this incredibly milestone: 15 years!
To commemorate the day, Luis and I sat down and had a conversation about celebrating fifteen years, what inspires us, what it’s like to be business partners as well as married, and design trends!
