To make the Fast 50, companies have to be for-profit and privately held, with at least $1 million in annual revenue in one of the past three years. Nominated companies share their financial information directly with GBQ Partners, which calculates the Fast 50 based on the highest growth rates.
About a third of the 50 companies on the list have at least doubled revenue in three years, with several of them posting many multiples of that.
