Made in the USA: Our Favorite American Made Vendors and Products

Happy 4th of July from Crimson Design Group! We’re commemorating Independence Day this year by celebrating some of the American Made companies the we source from!

Dunes and Duchess

Michael Partenio and Stacy Kunstel are artists and entrepreneurs to the core, and together, they make up Dunes and Duchess. Founded in 2010, Dunes and Duchess creates and sells romantic lighting and home furnishings known for their high-gloss lacquer finishes, modern touches, and traditional influence. We’re huge fans of their creative signature feature: lathe-turned wood spindles combined to create one of a kind chandeliers, candelabra, sconces, frames, benches, dining tables, and more. Together they design, build, finish, and ship all of their creations out of their shop, located in Brookfield, Connecticut. Each Made-in-the-USA, hand-finished piece is artfully crafted, impossibly chic, and simply put, perfect.

Check out the gorgeous Dunes and Duchess sconce and candelabra in this residential project!

Bassett

We use Bassett furniture in commercial projects, residential projects, hospitality designs, you name it. We love that they have a 100+ year history of building quality products and sourcing their supplies in the US. In fact, 75% of their products are made in the US! Their new Bench Made line is crafted from wood harvested in Appalachia and then made by artisans in Virginia. Each piece is made-to-order, one at a time. Their pieces are timeless, well crafted, and made in America. What’s not to love?

In this commercial project we custom upholstered a set of Bassett chairs, to add a unique flair to a clubhouse sitting room!

Lee Industries

Lee Industries is another one of our favorite residential vendors! Not only is their upholstery environmentally conscious, but it’s also exclusively made in the USA. Additionally, 98% of their products’ components are supplied domestically. From frames to foam, from springs to cotton, keeping their suppliers local means Lee’s C02 emissions are limited and they can keep transportation costs low (which translates to lower prices for you)!

In this residential project we used Lee Industry chairs as well as a sofa!

Fortner Fine Living

We love working closely with Columbus, Ohio based company, Fortner Fine Living. In business for nearly 100 years, Fortner is a time proven, consistently high quality upholstery and custom furniture maker. Whether we have an antique chair that needs reupholstering or we’ve designed a brand new front desk for a client, we love teaming up with Fortner to create utterly unique and customized pieces. Plus, their workshop is just a stone’s throw away from us! We just love that.

Check out Fortner’s handiwork below:  We custom designed and built this clubhouse’s front desk, in collaboration with Fortner!

Edgework Creative

Edgework Creative is another Columbus, Ohio based furniture design and fabrication company we love to collaborate with. Founded in 2012, Edgework uses reclaimed wood, live edge slabs, metal, and virgin lumber to create their pieces. We design custom desks, shelving, and more for our clients on a daily basis. Teaming up with a local team of craftspeople to bring our design to life ensures that the end result is exceptional and timeless.
