WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE YOU BEGAN WORKING FOR CRIMSON?

Prior to working at Crimson, I was the Assistant to the Directors of the Clinical Trials Office at OSU’s James Cancer Center. I was also doing a lot of freelance graphic design jobs.

WHY SWITCH TO CRIMSON?

When I saw that I could bring my administrative experience and creativity to an industry that I have a passion for, it was a no-brainer. I was also drawn to Crimson by the work they do to give back to the community, as well their culture of inclusion and acceptance.

IF YOU COULD BE ANY PIECE OF FURNITURE WHAT WOULD YOU BE?

I would definitely be an over-sized sofa chair, upholstered in a deep plum leather, positioned in a double story library next to a window where someone could read with a cup of coffee or curl up with their kids for a nightly bedtime story.

ANY FAVORITE HOBBIES?

I love to read, draw (with charcoal), binge-watch Netflix, sing, dance and participate in local theater. Above all, my favorite hobby is spending time with my family!

FAVORITE MOVIE AND BOOK?

When it comes to a favorite book, two are tied for first place, “A Wrinkle in Time” and “Life Expectancy”.

“A Wrinkle in Time” has been my favorite books since 5th grade; I love the scientific take on time travel and good versus evil while keeping these concepts within a childlike comprehension.

“Life Expectancy” discusses how intertwined the world is and how we never know what actions might effect our futures. The comical and suspenseful way this message is delivered makes for a story I can read again and again.

When it comes to a favorite movie, I’m a sucker for throwbacks. “The Goonies” and “Labyrinth” are two classics that will always be at the top of my list!

ANY GUILTY PLEASURES?

CARBS are my biggest guilty pleasure… bread, pasta, potatoes, beer, I just love them all!

I think my entire music taste would be considered a guilty pleasure as my playlist still consists of 90s hits and Broadway showtunes, both of which I frequently sing at the top of my lungs.

Also, I’m rather partial to the movie “Serendipity” which is romantic movie centered on the topic of fate.

FAVORITE PLACE IN THE WORLD?

With a family of five, it’s always a challenge to travel! I would love to visit New Zealand someday, but honestly, anywhere that I’m with my family is my favorite place in the world!

We are so excited that Samantha has joined the Crimson team! Stop by the office to meet her if you haven’t yet!
