When we were tasked with creating and designing the smallest clubhouse yet, we put our heads together on how we could put the Preferred Living and Crimson brands together in this space. The end result was a cozy and intimate clubhouse with a boutique feel.
Located in Grandview Heights, Essex Boutique Collection is a Preferred Living project unlike any other. A lavish hideaway with just 72 suites, the clubhouse is wrapped in a deep charcoal paneling that is clean and contemporary while serving as an amazing backdrop to the plaid banquette and other traditional elements. Bold lighting defines various vignettes while still feeling cohesive throughout.
Being able to create various areas for activity in such a compact footprint while still feeling inviting was both our design challenge and triumph. We pulled inspiration from other Preferred Living projects, like plaid upholstery and applied molding, and reinvented the style and format. The contemporary, yet charming, style makes for an inviting and posh space. Essex was at full occupancy shortly after opening their doors; a testament to both the welcoming design and charismatic staff.
