Function Meets Fashion

Items New & Collected

Our clients in Upper Arlington wanted an office space for him that was reflective of his life, travels, and items collected. We anchored the room into what felt like two separate areas – an office desk area and seating area – but made sure the space felt cohesive by framing the space with a large custom rug and layering smaller rugs on top. Grounding the room allowed everything else to shine! Our client wanted to surrounding himself with items that have meaning to him and share his story. In order to display all of these significant items, we used two amazing acrylic bookshelves that served both a functional and fashionable purpose without being distracting. The mid-century chandelier is a new piece, yet meets the energy of the collected items. We jam-packed this room with our client’s memories and collectibles that now have a very beautiful and purposeful home for him to enjoy and share with others. When designing this room, our mantra was “more is more!”

The primary suite was our next design project in this client’s home. The room is very large and the client did not want to overcrowd it with furniture. We decided to look up to the ceiling for more space to unleash our creativity. We found a wood veneer geometric-cut wall covering that brought in a natural element to play off of the other wood accents in the room. It gave an otherwise forgotten space some subtle beauty. The velvet emerald green headboard contributes an unexpected color, layered with the soft linen fabric canopy. We had a custom ceiling mount installed for the canopy, adding an additional element of luxury to the room. The mismatched his and hers nightstands served both clients in the manner they wanted, while still feeling and looking balanced.

A space designed for both function and fashion, our clients wanted to balance their eclectic collection of items with very timeless and classic pieces. We were able to draw inspiration from both aesthetics, resulting in a unique display of beauty and another pleased client.
