Globally Inspired

An Historic Tudor Home Transformed

When the owners of this Bexley house aren’t traveling the world, they want to be able to look around their home and be inspired by the places they’ve been and the cultures they’ve experienced. From Paris to South East Asia, from Argentina to Morocco, this well traveled, culturally curious couple wanted their house to feel curated, collected, and globally inspired.

We began with their new baby’s nursery. The Puchin people of Columbia inspired the graphics on the pillows and the Asian inspired draperies brought a pop of color to the room. As we remodeled their kitchen, we considered their favorite Parisian bistro. We worked with Fortner Fine Living to create custom, green banquette seating and created a gallery wall that featured some collected pieces from around Europe. We designed new cabinetry for their glassware and a wine fridge, a must for any bistro in the eleventh arrondissement, and certainly for this kitchen. In their powder room, we drew inspiration from their travels to Morocco and Turkey, installing art wallpaper that wouldn’t be out of place in One Thousand and One Nights. For their brand new patio, our clients wanted to create an entertaining space, a living room al fresco! We knew of their love of South America and the Caribbean, so we designed a living space with Afro-Caribbean and Spanish influences. We mixed small and large-scale patterns in both the tile work and pillows, and selected a variety of palm trees and greenery to enhance the patio’s hacienda-feel. It’s the perfect place for a mojito on a summer day.  Last but not least, we transformed their empty basement into the perfect wine cellar, replete with lush throws, club chair seating, and custom built wine shelves. For the couple that values sharing experiences and building connections with their friends, family, and world around them, this house is now the perfect place to come home to.
