Yoga And Meditation Space
Yoga and meditation are great ways to begin focusing on your mental and physical wellness. Crafting a dedicated space to serve those needs is key! We recommend this space be a quiet part of your home where you can be free of interruption and noise. A designated area should include elements such as a yoga mat or a soft rug, cushions or blankets, and even a speaker to listen to guided meditations or relaxing sounds.
Essential Oils And Aroma Therapy
Scents around us can truly build up our atmosphere. Repeatedly using aromatherapy in your wellness space can help to evoke memories of relaxation each time you enter. Using oil diffusers, sprays, or candles with scents such as lavender to soothe stressor or eucalyptus help to create a therapeutic and calming experience.
Comfortable Furniture
Comfortable furniture is key to feeling truly relaxed. Consider incorporating cozy floor cushions, lounge chairs, fluffy rugs, and meditation pillows into your space for the ultimate experience. These soft textures can increase your relaxation and can guide you to feel more grounded. Alongside making this space cozy, it should also reflect your style and interests! Allowing this space to be a reflection of you not only adds functionality to your space, but also helps you to feel more naturally grounded.
Natural Elements
Bringing the relaxation and sanctuary of nature into your space is another way to feel more grounded. The usage of natural elements can help improve the quality of your air and reduce stress. Highly recommended are snake plants, pothos, indoor water features, and even wood, stone, or bamboo elements. Any combination of these elements is sure to bring an earthy feel to your space.
Fitness Corner
Wellness, while heavily focused in relaxation, should also include other ways to best serve your body. This includes areas such as fitness, hydration, and our fuel. Consider creating a dedicated space or a “hydration station” for water or tea as well as healthy nutritious snacks. If you have enough space to include fitness equipment such as dumbells, resistance bands, or medicine balls, consider including them as well.
Sound Therapy
Alongside scent, our hearing is a sense that can profoundly impact our space and mood. For a wellness space, it is a great idea to include elements such as soothing sound machines or even wind chimes to create soft, yet comforting sounds. This will only boost your wellness and relaxation more!
A wellness space is something that we consider a must for any design project. No matter how big or small your space is, dedicating an area of your home where you can check in, get grounded, and be mindful, will gradually impact every aspect of your day to day life. Enjoy creating your own wellness space!
