Cheryl’s design philosophy and love of color were born in the vibrant jungles of Paraguay and on the busy streets of New York. Her South American upbringing influenced her bold aesthetic and affinity for richness, texture, and striking detail. Working her first job selling furniture in New York City, she'd watch accomplished designers walk through the showroom with confidence and clarity, making choices that would transform their clients' lives. She wanted that. Not the status, but the impact.
A daughter of Mennonite parents, Cheryl is self-made and self-taught. She founded Crimson in 2003 with a conviction that design has the power to transform lives. For her, design and life are inseparable. It's how she sees the world, expresses creativity, and connects with people. She is influenced by her global travels and has an insatiable curiosity for culture and craftsmanship. This philosophy has shaped Crimson into an impressive, multidisciplinary design team that creates with both artistry and intention, where every project builds not just stunning spaces but meaningful experiences for the people who enjoy them.

The Crimson creative process has never been confined to a studio. We discover design in the markets of Marrakech, the architecture of Barcelona, the textiles of Bangkok. Our team's passion for global exploration infuses every project with unexpected references, curated finds, and a worldview that sees beauty everywhere. Travel serves as education, connection, and the foundation of a design philosophy that honors craft from every corner of the world.
Design With Purpose: The Crimson Foundation
Crimson extends our commitment to thoughtful spaces beyond our client work. We partner with Asia's Hope to build homes for orphaned children, creating environments where kids have safety, community, and the foundation to thrive. To date, we've raised over $300,000 to fund crucial projects, including building shelter and safety walls across Thailand. Our firm also donates 10% of proceeds to support additional children’s health initiatives on a global-scale.
