Melanie Kettring

Design Director

With more than a decade of experience leading hospitality and studio design teams, Melanie Kettring brings a refined eye and a steady, thoughtful presence to Crimson Design Group. Her favorite aesthetic is French Country — a style defined by warmth, craftsmanship, and lived-in elegance — and those qualities echo through her work. Before joining Crimson, she spent twelve years with BWH Hotels, where she advanced from Studio Design Manager to Director of Studio Design, shaping prototypes, elevating brand standards, and guiding complex, large-scale environments with clarity and intention.

Melanie loves working within a team that shows genuine respect for one another and finds energy in creating spaces that feel welcoming, timeless, and deeply human. She gravitates toward materials like cashmere and fleece for the comfort and softness they bring — a sensory thread that often informs her design perspective. Each summer, she returns to a favorite property near Lake Michigan, a place that reminds her of the beauty of ease and simplicity.

Her guiding philosophy is to “let it go” when something is outside her control, a mindset that keeps her grounded in both work and life. She also has a hidden talent for sewing — machine, hand, and cross-stitch — a skill that reflects her appreciation for detail, patience, and making things with care. At Crimson, Melanie strengthens the design studio with that same intentionality, leading with empathy, expertise, and a belief in the power of a team that truly loves working together.
