Function Meets Fashion
A Collected Retreat
This Bexley home renovation centered on creating two spaces the homeowners would actually spend time in: a primary bedroom meant for unwinding, and a study that showcases years of travel, interests, and stories.
The study was the heartbeat of the project. The homeowner wanted a room where his collections could live out in the open — currency from his world travels, objects tied to specific trips, and pieces connected to his hobbies. The ask wasn’t to turn it into a display room, but to create a space that felt lived in and layered, meant to work, entertain and reminisce in. Crimson used shelving to give everything a place. Framed collections and objects are grouped intentionally, making it easy to take in the stories behind them without feeling busy.
The primary bedroom was designed to feel quieter and more grounded, an intentional contrast to the energy of the study. Soft textures, a lighter palette, and thoughtful lighting create a sense of calm that makes the room feel like a true retreat. Textured wallpaper ceiling throughout (even the ceiling) added depth, texture and color. Together, the spaces feel intentional without feeling overdone, shaped by the homeowners’ experiences rather than a preset style.
