Cape Cod Comes to Columbus
Cape Cod, Reimagined
When this family moved to Columbus, they brought a clear sense of nostalgia with them. They had lived in a classic Cape Cod home before and loved everything about it, from the charm and the warmth to the feeling. The challenge was translating that vibe into a more transitional home, without doing any construction.
Crimson started by getting curious and getting to know how the client really lived. During the very first meeting, a walk through her closet revealed a love of color, texture, and a bit of global flair — especially when it came to jewelry. Instead of sticking rigidly to a traditional Cape Cod formula, Crimson asked if she’d be open to layering some of that personality into the design. The answer was an enthusiastic “yes!”
Throughout the project, Crimson carefully wove pieces from the client’s previous home into the new space, preserving that emotional connection while elevating the overall look. The result is a home that still feels rooted in the original Cape Cod style they loved, but with a richer, more eclectic edge, one the family didn’t even realize they would be drawn to until they saw it come together.
